Good news! Senior citizens are no longer required to present purchase booklets to avail 20% discount when buying prescription medicines, said Department of Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa.

Herbosa signed Administrative Order No. 2024-0017 on December 23, 2024, removing the need to present the purchase booklets. This is consistent with Republic Act 9994 or Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010.

For partial filling, the establishmentโ€™s pharmacist will indicate the quantity partially filled and the unfilled balance on the prescription. The Senior Citizen shall retain the partially filled prescription and present the same later to complete the prescribed quantity.

The National Commission of Senior Citizens extends its heartfelt gratitude to our partner agencies โ€“ Department of Health, policymakers, and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for their continued efforts in providing more benefits to seniors, ensuring that every transaction is made fast and easy.
