NCSC Hosts Medical Mission and Cash Gift Distribution for Navotas City

The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) through its NCR Regional Office led by Officer-in-Charge and Commissioner, Dr. Mary Jean P. Loreche, held its cash gift distribution and medical mission to address the healthcare and financial needs of elderly citizens in Navotas city.

Sixty-eight senior citizens attended and received free medical check-ups from healthcare professionals at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center. Assessments included screenings for common ailments, such as hypertension and diabetes, ensuring the elderly had access to essential healthcare.

During the event, 50 milestone beneficiaries also received cash gifts under the Expanded Centenarian Act or R.A. No. 11982, providing much-needed financial support to help alleviate their economic burdens.

Dr. Loreche highlighted the importance of community support through the collaboration with the Local Government of Navotas and the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) which led to the event’s success.

The NCSC continues to advocate for senior citizens, ensuring they are not neglected in society. This initiative in Navotas exemplifies the ongoing efforts of NCSC among LGUs to enhance the well-being and dignity of the elderly community.
